Today I made a huge mistake – I deleted some files off our website that were really important. I desperately called the help desk to see if they could recover them and the very helpful support guy said, “I’m sorry, we don’t offer recovery for our clients except in catastrophic cases.” Well, to me it was a catastrophe but to him it apparently wasn’t. I felt like crying.

But you won’t believe what Kevin did…

Kevin didn’t say a word. It was great! He could have said “I can’t believe you were so stupid!” He could have berated me about the consequences of losing those files. He could have should’ed me – I should have had a backup, I should have paid someone else to do my website maintenance, I should have been more careful…

He could have jumped right in with a solution.

But he didn’t say any of that. He just took me in his arms and said nothing.

That was a wise choice. I was feeling bad enough already without him adding to it or trying to fix it.

I have a great husband.
