One of the complaints I hear most often from wives is that their husbands don’t talk to them.  They expect their husbands to be like their girlfriends who can spend 17 minutes and 42 seconds talking about something with just a three word prompt.

Here’s a tip that will help both husbands and wives communicate better.

Start your conversations with a specific, factual question (no emotion or emotional tone allowed).  Then use this simple five word phrase in your conversation: “Tell me more about that.”  In sales training they tell us that you have to ask at least three questions to get to the real issue you’re trying to deal with.  Use this phrase often and you’ll know more about, have a better understanding of, and feel more connected to your spouse.
